Nowa Nowa
The Nowa Nowa Community Development Group (NNCDG) is an enduring community organisation that represents the Nowa Nowa community and is the owner of this website. The current members of the NNCDG include business owners, former and current bureaucrats, project managers, tradespeople, parents, homemakers, and food cultivators. The group maintains this website.
The NNCDG is operating the Nowa Nowa Futures Project, an initiative of the Victorian State government to create to economic futures for former timber towns. The Nowa Nowa Community Development Group also manages the Nowa Nowa Public Hall, managing after bookings and maintenance, as well as community events located at the hall.
In 2023 NNCDG took on a lease for the former primary school site, with a view of utilising the space to develop new enterprises and projects for Nowa Nowa.
NNCDG states as it’s purpose:
‘To protect our community’s strengths, – creating wellbeing, belonging and a safe inclusive environment.’

MEMBERSHIP & MEETINGS
NNCDG welcomes new members from the local community. To enquire about becoming a member, please contact the secretary at info@nowanowa.org.au
Meetings are held monthly, on the second Tuesday of each month at 6 pm at the Community Room attached to Gippsland Lakes Complete Health, on Bridge St Nowa Nowa.

HALL HIRE
NNCDG manages the Nowa Nowa Community Hall, which is available to hire for meetings and functions.
The hall has a main hall with stage, kitchen, toilets, seating and tables available.
The hall hire fee has full and half day, and a commercial and community rate.
Community Groups and not for profits
Full Day $150 + $100 Bond
Half Day $75 + $100 Bond
Meeting only $25
Commercial or Government Hire
Full Day $400 + $100 Bond
Half Day $200 + $100 Bond
Conditions of hire are that a bond is to be paid when booking the hall and it refunded after inspected and found in a satisfactory condition.
